Job Description

U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a Federal Security Clearance are required for this role

Building off our Cloud momentum, Oracle has formed a new organization - Oracle Health Data, Analytics Platform. This team will focus on product development and product strategy for Oracle Health, while building out a complete platform supporting modernized, automated healthcare. This is a net new line of business, constructed with an entrepreneurial spirit that promotes an energetic and creative environment. We are unencumbered and will need your contribution to make it a world class engineering center with the focus on excellence.

Oracle Health Data, Analytics Platform has a rare opportunity to play a critical role in how Oracle Health products impact and disrupt the healthcare industry by transforming how healthcare and technology intersect.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Reach billions of people with our products & services
  • Create technology in which truly impacts the world
  • Ability to have immediate impact on developing technology
  • Unlimited growth potential with inspiring work
  • Work with the best minds in the industry
  • Enjoy working in an open, diverse, and productive environment

About The Job

This role provides technical leadership for the core data platforms behind Oracle Health’s Data & Analytics Platform. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will own shared, mission-critical systems used by multiple products and teams.

You will support the design and operation of large-scale, stateful distributed platforms, including Hadoop ecosystem components (HDFS, YARN, HBase) deployed on Oracle Big Data Service (BDS), Kafka, and Storm. These multi-tenant platforms are deployed and operated through Ansible- and Terraform-based automation and require strong architectural ownership to manage scale, change, and broad blast radius.

What You'll Do

Platform Ownership & Technical Leadership

  • Own the end-to-end reliability, scalability, and operability of shared data platforms
  • Define platform standards, architectural direction, and operational guardrails
  • Influence cross-team technical decisions and long-term platform strategy
  • Drive long-term platform evolution and influence reliability strategy across the data ecosystem

Architecture & Design

  • Clearly articulate system behavior, dependencies, and failure modes
  • Make trade-offs between reliability, performance, cost, and complexity
  • Provide guidance and guardrails that enable downstream teams to use platforms safely and effectively

Operations Engineering

  • Establish capacity models, scaling strategies, and operational best practices
  • Design platforms that behave predictably under load, failure, and change
  • Own platform lifecycle events: upgrades, expansions, decommissioning, and recovery

Distributed Systems Expertise

  • Operate and evolve stateful distributed systems where data placement, replication, and recovery are critical
  • Reason about failure modes such as backpressure, rebalancing, region movement, replication lag, and rolling upgrades

Security

  • Operate and maintain Kerberized platforms, including authentication, authorization, and secure service-to-service communication
  • Treat security as a first-class architectural concern

Automation

  • Design and evolve an Ansible- and Terraform-driven automation framework
  • Treat automation as production software: versioned, reviewed, tested, and improved
  • Eliminate operational toil by encoding reliability and safety into the platform

Incident Leadership & Prevention

  • Serve as the ultimate escalation point for complex or ambiguous incidents
  • Focus on eliminating entire classes of failure, not just resolving individual issues

Representation

  • Represent SRE and platform engineering in high-visibility and sensitive forums
  • Communicate clearly with engineering leadership and partner teams

Job Description

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is scaling at an unprecedented pace to support the next generation of AI-driven workloads. We are seeking a Senior Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead engagement and AI capacity buildout for large-scale enterprise customers, acting as the end-to-end execution owner across customers, data center design and architecture, engineering, and infrastructure.

This is a high-visibility, high-ambiguity role with direct influence on OCI business decisions, investment priorities, and regional capacity strategy. You will operate independently in problem spaces where requirements are incomplete, architectural tradeoffs are complex, and decisions have material impact on OCI’s long-term platform direction and customer commitments. Success in this role requires exceptional technical depth and breadth, strong business judgment, and the ability to drive clarity and execution without predefined playbooks.

Sitting at the intersection of customer strategy, cloud architecture, AI infrastructure, and large-scale execution, this role partners closely with OCI architects, engineering leaders, and infrastructure teams. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with most senior architects to translate customer AI and infrastructure requirements into scalable, supportable OCI architectures, influencing region design, GPU capacity planning, network and storage architectures, and deployment models. You are expected to engage deeply in technical discussions, understand architectural constraints and tradeoffs, and drive alignment across teams to enable timely and high-quality delivery. You will define execution plans, identify and mitigate technical and operational risks, and ensure commitments are met across multiple organizations with competing priorities.

Beyond individual customer delivery, you will define and codify best practices, reusable mechanisms, and operating models that enable OCI to scale AI capacity delivery. This includes producing durable execution frameworks, architectural patterns, and capacity onboarding playbooks that reduce time-to-capacity and time-to-value while allowing OCI to onboard many large customers in parallel.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engagement, design, and delivery of AI capacity and infrastructure for the largest enterprise OCI customers.
  • Partner with OCI architects and engineering leaders to translate complex customer requirements into scalable, supportable cloud and AI infrastructure architectures, influencing region design, GPU capacity planning, network topology, storage architecture, and deployment models.
  • Lead large, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders (including customers, partners, vendors, and OCI internal) and competing priorities, establishing clear ownership, roadmaps, milestones, and mechanisms to ensure on-time and high-quality delivery.
  • Define and operationalize best practices, frameworks, and playbooks for AI capacity onboarding, region readiness, and customer handover, enabling OCI to scale delivery across many customers in parallel.
  • Effectively communicate findings and progress to technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Mentor and raise the bar for technical program management across OCI by modeling strong technical judgment, execution rigor, and ownership, and by contributing to the evolution of TPM best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Technology Management, Business Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years (Senior Principal) experience as a hands-on technical program or product manager, ideally in with cloud infrastructure domain expertise.
  • Advanced knowledge of product lifecycle management and experience launching/operating customer-facing cloud services or large-scale services operating on cloud.
  • Experience communicating seamlessly with technical and business audiences at all organizational levels.
  • Analytically and technically proficient, able to quickly learn new software, tools, and market trends.
  • Demonstrated success thriving in dynamic, customer-focused, ambiguous environments.
  • Experience in datacenter or cloud infrastructure development or as a member of a cloud software/product development organization.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with large-scale GPU infrastructure, data center operations (including power, cooling, hardware, networking), and deploying/maintaining GPU servers.
  • Strong understanding of public cloud services (OCI, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), especially IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS, including Compute, Storage, Identity, and Networking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of full stack software development, including design, implementation, and operation of distributed services.
  • Demonstrated experience owning production services end-to-end in a builder-operator model, including design, build, deploy, on-call, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong product development experience in Java, Python, Go, and or JavaScript.
  • Expertise designing REST APIs and building multi-tenant services with clear isolation, quota, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience leading architecture and functional reviews, strong written documentation habits, and the ability to partner with Product Managers across the full launch lifecycle.
  • Good understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage concepts, and distributed persistence technologies.
  • Proven technical leadership, including delivering multiple initiatives in parallel, unblocking teams, and driving execution while maintaining high engineering quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate trade-offs, risks, and operational considerations to diverse stakeholders.
