We are seeking a Senior Java / AWS Cloud Technical Lead (Cloud Modernization & Digital Platforms to lead the design, modernization, and ongoing delivery of enterprise digital platforms and backend services using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and AWS. Own technical architecture and implementation across cloud migration (including re-platforming/refactoring), API integration, workflow automation, and DevOps enablement. Partner with product, business, and operations teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions with strong operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of cloud-native services and platform components, from discovery and design through build, test, release, and production support.
- Define target architecture for modernization initiatives (7Rs), including refactoring monoliths/EJB apps to Spring Boot microservices and migrating data and workloads to AWS.
- Design and implement REST APIs and integration patterns (API Gateway, event-driven workflows, async messaging) with a focus on reliability, performance, and security.
- Own AWS infrastructure and application runtime design across services such as ECS/EC2, S3/EFS, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, ALB, Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, and related services.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines and deployment standards using Jenkins, Maven, Git, and AWS code services; drive automation for builds, testing, releases, and environment provisioning.
- Provide technical leadership through design reviews, coding standards, mentoring, task planning, and cross-team collaboration; support on-call/production issue resolution when needed.
- Drive observability and operational excellence (monitoring, alerting, log analytics, dashboards) and ensure adherence to SLAs.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and BAs to translate business requirements into technical requirements, estimates, and delivery plans.
- Contribute to workflow/BPM solutions where applicable (IBM BPM/BAW, jBPM, Drools) and ensure process automation integrates cleanly with core services.
- Identify opportunities to improve time-to-market and productivity through automation (including developer tooling and responsible use of GenAI for code transformation/modernization where appropriate).
