Why This Role Matters
This VP, AI Innovation & Enablement leader will lead the organization responsible for identifying emerging AI technologies, developing reusable patterns, and enabling teams across the enterprise to adopt them effectively.
The team serves as the bridge between new AI capabilities and production implementation, ensuring the organization stays current with advances in generative AI and agent-based systems while maintaining strong engineering discipline.
This group works closely with the AI platform team, architecture, cybersecurity and AI solutions teams to translate experimentation into reusable patterns, reference architectures, and enterprise adoption.
Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
AI Capability Discovery
Continuously evaluate emerging AI technologies and techniques that can meaningfully improve enterprise AI systems, including:
- Large language models and reasoning models
- Agent frameworks and orchestration patterns
- Advanced retrieval architectures
- Multimodal AI systems
- Evaluation and benchmarking techniques
Applied Experimentation
Develop prototypes and reference implementations that validate new AI approaches, and produce reusable engineering patterns (not stand alone demos), including:
- Agent-based workflows
- Retrieval and knowledge access patterns
- Prompt engineering and reasoning workflows
- Tool-using AI systems
Reusable Asset Development
Translate experimentation into practical assets that accelerate the development of production AI systems across the organization:
- Reusable templates for AI applications
- Agent workflow frameworks
- RAG and knowledge integration patterns
- Small models/ synthetic data
Enterprise Enablement
Help engineering teams adopt AI capabilities effectively by:
- Advising teams designing AI-enabled systems
- Providing guidance on safe and reliable AI system design
- Running internal technical workshops and onboarding sessions
- Documenting best practices for AI application development
AI Adoption & Technical Evangelism
Drive awareness and adoption of AI capabilities across the enterprise, including:
- Demonstrating practical AI use cases and reference implementations
- Showcasing successful AI deployments internally
- Organizing engineering showcases, workshops, and hackathons
- Promoting consistent use of the enterprise AI platform
Demonstrations are expected to evolve into reusable patterns or production implementations.

Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, or applied AI
- Experience designing or experimenting with modern AI systems (LLMs, RAG, or agent workflows)
- Experience with architecture thinking and ability to translate experimentation into practical engineering patterns
- Experience advising engineering teams or leading platform adoption initiatives
Core Competencies:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both engineers and technical leadership

Pay Range:
$163,875-$273,125/year
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location. Job Overview
This role leads the engineering organization responsible for building and operating the AI Hub platform—the runtime infrastructure that powers AI-enabled software across the enterprise.
The platform provides the control plane for AI systems, enabling teams to safely integrate large language models, build agent-based workflows, access enterprise knowledge, and execute automated actions through secure tools.
The focus of this role is production-grade engineering: reliability, safety, scalability, and operational governance of AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
AI Runtime & Agent Orchestration Platform
Design and operate the runtime infrastructure that supports AI-driven applications and agents. This includes:
- Agent execution frameworks for multi-step workflows
- Orchestration of model calls, tools, and knowledge retrieval
- State management for long-running AI workflows
- Human-in-the-loop execution patterns
- Support for multi-agent coordination and automation
Model Access & AI Service Layer
Provide a standardized and governed way for engineering teams to interact with AI models. This include:
- Model gateway and routing across AI providers
- Model versioning and lifecycle management
- Token management and cost controls
- Consistent APIs for model access across applications
Enterprise Knowledge & Retrieval Infrastructure
Build the shared infrastructure that enables AI systems to safely access enterprise knowledge. This include:
- Document ingestion and indexing pipelines
- Embedding and retrieval services
- Vector and graph-based knowledge systems
- Secure access controls for enterprise data
Tool Execution & Integration Framework
Enable AI systems to interact safely with enterprise services and applications. This include:
- Secure tool registry for AI agents

Safety, Governance & Control

Responsibilities
- Build reusable SDKs, sample applications, and reference implementations to support AI‑enabled software development
- Create developer tooling that supports local development, testing, evaluation, debugging, and deployment of AI workloads
- Translate platform capabilities into clear technical documentation, implementation guides, and onboarding resources
- Develop templates and examples for common AI use cases such as chat assistants, summarization, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), and agent‑based workflows
- Partner with product and engineering teams to support adoption and promote consistent, scalable AI solutions
