As a member of CIBC’s team, the Senior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for formulating system scope and objectives, validating developed requirements, testing, training, and implementing applications, constructing end user reporting, ensuring sound data quality management practices are implemented, and providing end-user support.
The role works on complex issues involving US Private Wealth eco system and key vendors, mentoring employees and performing tasks of advanced technical depth and breadth. The role will specialize in our US Private Wealth platforms, driving innovations and improvements to enhance client experiences and operational efficiency. The role performs tasks of technical depth and breadth, recommending, validating and documenting business requirements for assigned projects to maximize operational efficiency and ensure project control procedures and policies are executed and determine project methods and approaches, providing business support relative to developing, analyzing, and identifying process changes or system enhancements. The role also uses judgment and autonomy on daily tasks, providing operational support for projects after implementation, including problem resolution and recommendations to ensure ongoing success. In addition to this, the Sr. BSA proactively addresses problems within the scope of responsibility and identifies areas for possible improvements and is responsible for formulating system scope and objectives, validating developed requirements, testing, training and implementing applications, constructing end user reporting and providing end user support. The Sr. BSA will also assist in determining methods and approaches to projects aligning with enterprise governance standards, providing business support relative to the development, analysis and identification of process changes or system enhancements.

How you'll succeed
- Understanding and Documenting Requirements - Work closely with business partners to gather complex business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements. Define acceptance criteria and assist with user acceptance testing to ensure success feature implementation. Strong research, technical analysis, planning and organizational skills
- Analyze and Evaluate Systems and Processes across the Private Wealth and business partner landscape. Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to recommend improvements and enhancements. Detail-oriented, critical thinking skills to investigate complex problems and making sense of information. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes
- Solution Design/Management Reporting Design - Build client-focused solutions that meet business requirements. Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles (waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches to software development). Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, user acceptance testing, and quality assurance. A deep understanding of the Private Wealth data ecosystem will allow for report construction to meet clients and regulatory requests.
- Leading and Mentoring – Support end-to-end project implementation as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to a diverse team of business, technology, and project professionals. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems. Assist in developing materials to facilitate training sessions and provide support to system users.
- Governance – Ensure all Enterprise and US region PMO and Governance rules are followed in the creation and documentation of requirements, testing, and implementation of applications. Knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.

- You demonstrate 2+ years of experience in. Business Systems Analyst experience (i.e., writing user stories, creating and updating systems Use Cases, etc.) preferably as part of a Private Wealth team. You also must have experience in a reporting writing tool preferable Business Objects. Experience with the SEI Wealth Platform would be preferred.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll join CIBC’s U.S. Commercial Banking Technology team, supporting and enhancing critical applications in the commercial lending ecosystem. You’ll provide hands-on technical expertise to deliver and integrate electronic signature and loan pricing solutions, ensuring stability, performance, and reliable partner integrations.
You’ll lead production support activities, including triage and resolution of technical issues and system/website outages, coordinating across internal technology teams and external vendors. You’ll drive prioritization, communicate status to stakeholders, and contribute to root-cause analysis and preventative improvements to reduce recurring incidents.

- Production support - Investigate and define operational issues and prioritize based on severity, risk and/or strategic business needs. Design and implement solutions to prevent recurrence with the end goal of providing excellent technology support.

What You’ll Be Doing
The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for leading the functional design and development of application systems across technologies and platforms. The role provides consultation for senior management on a wide spectrum of existing and emerging infrastructure technologies, translating user requirements to process and data requirements and developing solutions for the business with far-reaching impact. The Lead provides technical leadership to develop precise steps and processing logic across all platforms, ensuring the designed specifications achieve business needs. What You’ll Be Doing
As a member of CIBC’s Production Support Team, you will play a key role in ensuring the stability, efficiency, and compliance of critical business applications, with a focus on Electronic Content Management (ECM) systems. You will provide second-level support for client and technical issues, manage system/web site outages, and coordinate with internal and external partners to resolve incidents. Your responsibilities will span troubleshooting, incident management, systems implementation, and relationship management, ensuring seamless operations and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Production Support & Troubleshooting
- Investigate and resolve operational issues, prioritizing based on severity, risk, and business impact.
- Manage issue logs, Contact Centre requests, and escalations.
- Provide 24x7 support, including coordination of recovery efforts and disaster recovery events.
- Utilize Incident and Problem Management to resolve incidents and identify root causes.
- Design and implement solutions to prevent recurrence and ensure high client satisfaction.
Systems Implementation & Maintenance
- Lead or coordinate technical research, configuration, testing, and integration of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
- Implement application changes through established change management processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and information security standards.
- Plan and execute certificate creation/renewals and system upgrades.
- Review system patches and updates, ensuring minimal system impact.
ECM/EDMS Focus
- Support and maintain Electronic Data Management/Enterprise Document Management/Electronic Content Management systems, including document capturing, storage, indexing, version control, and workflow automation.
- Work with tools such as OpenText, ShinyDocs, Content Management
Partnership & Relationship Management
- Act as a liaison with business partners, technology groups, vendors, and clients.
- Build strong relationships and communicate effectively to identify needs and recommend solutions.
- Promote and support channel support concepts, products, and services.
Project Delivery
- Serve as a subject matter expert for planned system changes and projects, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
- Analyze proposed application designs, provide feedback, and participate in system testing prior to production deployment.
- Produce quality and timely deliverables as part of project teams.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain documentation including deficiencies, deviations, application flow diagrams, and SCCM plans.
- Validate and submit responses for audit requests.
- Research, evaluate, and support the development and implementation of new or revised policies and procedures.
How You’ll Succeed
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in application support, preferably with 1–3 years in banking. Experience with ECM/EDMS, workflows, forms, and reports is essential.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with ITIL Change, Incident, and Problem Management; cloud technologies (e.g., Azure); SQL query writing and file integration (preferred).
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Collaboration: Excellent relationship management, networking, and mentoring abilities. Ability to support and mentor intermediate analysts.
